The Engineering Development Array
The Engineering Development Array (EDA) is an SKA-compliant station architecture composed of the mature "bowtie" antenna design of the type used by LOFAR and the MWA for a number of years, with features of low cost construction, deployment, and operations/maintenance. As a well understood technical solution for SKA-low, EDA is being used in the final stages of technology design and selection as part of the SKA Bridging phase of activity. Primarily, EDA is being used to examine and confirm the calibration of SKA-low station and general station performance.
